All of your Appalachian Trail ​needs in one stop! — 100 Mile Wilderness and Beyond

We offer a variety of accommodations to make your stay comfortable. We have bunk space, as well as single and double private rooms. There is a communal lounge area with wifi.  Breakfast is served daily!  

After thru hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2008 the trail became a part of our lives forever.  In 2015 the opportunity arose to truly become an integral part of this national treasure.

Along with our spirited children and trail dog, we have made Shaw’s in Monson, Maine our new home. Our home is your home!

As thru hikers ourselves we know what hikers crave and at Shaw’s you will find everything you need, as well as the comforts of home. ​​If you don’t see it just ask. We will make every effort to help you along your hike.  Relax and enjoy a cold Maine craft beer or soda with us and share a story. We love hearing about your hike!

The Shaw’s famous breakfast has been a trail legacy since the 70s. Old man Shaw used to as if you wanted a 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4. That was the number of eggs, bacon, and pancakes he would heap on your plate. Today, we serve a solid 3×3 to every guest and enhance the experience with thick cut bacon, all you can eat wild Maine blueberry pancakes, and Poet’s famous home fries. Poet’s home fries are made with extra virgin olive oil, sweet onions, Maine potatoes, garlic, and Himalayan pink salt. We also accommodate our vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian friends with extra eggs, vegan or gluten free pancakes, and extra home fries. In short, NO HIKER WILL LEAVE OUR TABLE UNSATISFIED.
