The Appalachian Trail Lodge is a family home that was originally constructed in 1901 as a boarding house and has hosted Appalachian Trail hikers since 1988. The Appalachian Trail Lodge is located in the heart of downtown Millinocket, the closest town to Baxter State Park and Katahdin. In March 2017, Hiker Hostel was acquired by Barefoot Luxury, Inc. to add to its portfolio of global experiential travel offerings. Over the summer of 2017, Hiker Hostel underwent extensive upgrades and renovations, and was reopened as Barefoot Hills.

Hostel housed in a historical mansion in the state park near the halfway point of the AT. We offer individual overnight accommodations as well as group reservations with exclusive use of the facility for day use, overnight use, or both. The hostel is closed on Tuesdays, and during special events such as weddings and receptions.
The hostel is open 6 days a week and is closed on Tuesdays (the inkeeper’s off day). It will also be closed due to special events on the following dates.

Rock ‘n Sole Hostel in Summit Station, Pennsylvania is a charming respite along the AT in Central PA (NoBo near mile 1202, & SoBo near mile 986) bringing a few comforts of home to hikers and adventure seekers alike. We welcome you to contact us to assist you in planning your through or section hike. We are a family operation that caters to those seeking a tranquil and enjoyable trail respite. The bunkhouse is a smoke and drug free place for hikers to have a peaceful refuge and refreshing break from the trail. Currently offering a bunk house with six beds available, a 1958 vintage camper, a.k.a. “Trashy,” is also an option for 2 hikers looking to step back in time for some “glamping.” We can board a maximum of 12 hikers. Stay includes hot outdoor shower, all sleeping/bathing linens included, use of chemical privy, delicious dinner & breakfast, rides to/from the Route 183 trail head & a daily resupply run for $40 per/night. Other options include laundry ($5 load wash/dry) and mail drops (free for hostel guests). Bunkhouse is seasonally heated & AC based on weather, and has excellent Wi-Fi, DVD player with movie selections, and Bluetooth speaker for your tunes.

Our first mission began in 1976, when the church opened a hostel for through hikers on the AppalachianTrail. We are the oldest hostel on the trail, welcoming foot weary hikers from around the world. We are not open to people with car support, scout groups, tour groups or short distance hikers but for those making the long trek we offer many different kinds of support. We have a bunk room, shower, lave, and sitting room inside and a three sided shelter called Matt’s Place, on the property. The first night is free. Stays are limited to two nights unless an emergency exists. Then the Pastor’s permission should be sought. The church has a strict no alcohol, no illegal drugs policy.
Cars may not be parked on the property at any time. Mail drops are not accepted but the post office is next door.
Located off I-81, we are close to many central Pennsylvania attractions. We offer comfortable, affordable accommodations whether you are with us just one night, or plan to stay and enjoy the area. The Days Inn is 12 min away to Boiling Springs where the Appalachian Trail heads North. There is also a AT Parking Lot off route 74 North of Boiling Springs.

Nestled in Moody Hollow and sitting next to the headwaters of the Hiawassee River, these cabins offer a great getaway. Guests find a special solitude not found in other campgrounds. Although we have a limited number of sites they are all very spacious. With 20 campsites, 15 of which are on the river, it allows for a more private camping experience. Some campers have found it so desirable; they’ve stayed for 6 years! 10 minutes from Hiawassee and 15 Minutes from Helen, you’re close to a variety of restaurants, quaint shops, grocery stores, beautiful Lake Chatuge, 6 new movie theaters and Funworld for the kids. Campers enjoy being minutes from High Shoals Falls, the Appalachian Trail and Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia.
Appalachian Cabins combine the rustic charm of yesteryear with the comfort of modern day conveniences. The cabins were constructed in the same manner as the early settlers of this area used to build their homes more than a century ago. All the timber, which came from Spruce Mountain, was milled in nearby Hardy County, and then hand hewn and assembled on-site.

If that’s not enough, head to nearby Wellington State Park on Newfound Lake to paddle or enjoy a sandy beach. All three bedrooms have private baths. We serve a delicious hearty homemade breakfast every morning outside on our porch or inside our lovely dining room. The main floor is completely available for guests. We have secure wi-fi, but no cable or TV. Well behaved children are welcome. We do not have accommodations for pets, but there are kennels in the area. Our home is handicapped accessible with a wheelchair ramp, wide doorways, and easy access to all guest areas.
