We share our home year-round with fellow mountain and river lovers and have been doing so for over 35 years. We are located just off the Appalachian Trail and at the “take-out” along the Nolichucky River Gorge, which surrounds us with gorgeous views at the base of Unaka Mountain.

Blood Mountain Cabins are rustic, no-frills cabins located high in the Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to get back to simpler times.
Located a short footpath away from the world-famous Appalachian Trail and surrounded by the wilderness of the Chattahoochee National Forest, we are near the top of Blood Mountain, over 3000 feet above sea level, and we rarely see a temperature as high as 80°.
Our 13 quaint cabins on 4+ acres nestled in the mountains can accommodate up to 4 adults. Each cabin has a bedroom with a queen bed and a loft with a queen bed. These cabins all have a similar layout and functionality. We have some on the ridge, some on the creek, a few are pet friendly, and we even have a handicap-accessible unit.
Book one for one night or book all for a week – this community is excellent for large groups and families to plan get-togethers while still having their own private cabin! Reserve early so that you can choose cabins close to each other before they are booked up.
Built on the site of the historic Crawford House hotel and nestled at the southern base of the Presidential Range in New Hampshire’s Crawford Notch, the Highland Center is our premier White Mountain lodge.
Mount Cardigan rises up out of the Shem Valley as a beacon for outdoor lovers. Hikers are drawn to its bare summit not only for views but also for the quiet forests that line its approach. Look for salamanders, mushrooms, and blueberries along the way. Waterfalls, a small pond for swimming, and a nature trail await young explorers. Next to Mount Cardigan State Forest, Cardigan Lodge is located on a 1,200-acre reservation owned by AMC and features a peaceful, roads-end location. The Shaw’s famous breakfast has been a trail legacy since the 70s. Old man Shaw used to as if you wanted a 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4. That was the number of eggs, bacon, and pancakes he would heap on your plate. Today, we serve a solid 3×3 to every guest and enhance the experience with thick cut bacon, all you can eat wild Maine blueberry pancakes, and Poet’s famous home fries. Poet’s home fries are made with extra virgin olive oil, sweet onions, Maine potatoes, garlic, and Himalayan pink salt. We also accommodate our vegan, gluten free, and vegetarian friends with extra eggs, vegan or gluten free pancakes, and extra home fries. In short, NO HIKER WILL LEAVE OUR TABLE UNSATISFIED.

The best of both worlds! Spread along the banks of a 230-acre Ponkapoag Pond in the 8,500-acre MDC Blue Hills Reservation, the camp offers a wilderness experience just 15 minutes from Boston. We are your full service contact for ALL hostel, slackpack, and logistical needs for hiking the Appalachian Trail, enjoying Shenandoah National Park, floating the Shenandoah River, and cycling and running in Central Virginia.
Our hostel provides lodging for hikers, bickers, and other visitors to Luray.

The hostel is located at 1260 East Main Street – 8 miles West of the Appalachian Trail in Luray, Virginia.
Since we are a traveler’s hostel, we do not allow locals, no exceptions. The hostel reserves the right to refuse any patron at any time for any reason.

Internet
There is a “community” computer available with internet access so you can check/send email or take care of any other business before hitting the trail. Wireless internet is also available.
While there is no time limit for computer usage, please be considerate of other guests who also want to use this service.
Trains
Luray is a train town. We can’t get away from them. The hostel is across the street from train tracks. Cargo trains do run at all hours and most night conductors are courteous of sleepers. However, there is a cross over about 300 yards from the hostel. Since safety is of utmost importance, the whistle blows in front of the hostel when trains are traveling out of town.
Kitchen Facilities
- We have a full kitchen for guests to use.
- It is stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, and cookware.
- All we ask is that you completely clean up after yourself for the next person.
- There is also a refrigerator where you can keep that leftover pizza, or if you’re staying for a few days, stock up on groceries.
Laundry – $5 a la cart
- We provide laundry services for guests. Laundry (wash/dry/detergent) is $5 per load.
- Shared loads are permissible.
Pets
Well-mannered, house-broken and “relatively” clean dogs are allowed in the main hostel building. Dogs may be bathed in The Cave shower… dog shampoo is provided.
- Please keep your dog under control at all times.
- Dogs may not be left at the hostel unsupervised.
- The dog-owner is solely responsible for the actions of his/her dog.
- If any damage is done to the hostel or other hikers’ gear, compensation will be expected.
- We are owned by 2 cats that are tolerant of well-mannered dogs, so please keep that in mind.
We have been happily hosting hikers since 1990 . Check on our many services for thru- hikers, section hikers, and day hikers. Perfect location for several days of day-hiking or “slack-packing” This is a central spot for mail drops, visits from friends and family, and a homey stop to rest, recoup, and recharge.
If you are thru-hiking the A.T. northbound, you have hiked over 2000 miles when you reach Andover ME. Southbounders, this is your last place to enjoy Maine hospitality. Pine Ellis is a great spot for you to take a day off the trail, kick those boots off and give yourself a rest before you continue your hike.
We regularly pick up and drop off at the two closest trail heads of the A.T. (East B Hill and South Arm Rd) which are a mere 15 minutes away from our B&B, and we offer shuttle services to and from these other trail heads : Gorham (Rte #2), Grafton Notch (Rte #26), Rte #17, Rangeley (Rte #4).
We shuttle from Gorham to Stratton, and bus stations and airports.
