Our property consists of 20 acres of the beautiful Blue Mountain. At the Lookout you can see for 40 Miles across the valley below. With views from Allentown, Lyons and Reading. The area with the view is a shared area for both sites. Feel free to use the fire ring while you sit and watch the evening sky. It is breathtaking at night. At the bottom of the mountain there is a Gunclub with a shooting range and you will hear shooting from the property. Please note it is far away and there is no danger Our property is mostly the mountain side. But with an area that is flat for tent camping. The property is close to Route 309 but there is a camping area away from the road. Our land is next to the road and you will hear some road noise. We are next to National Parks land which also consists of the Appalachian Trail and also against the Pennsylvania Game Lands. You can walk up the street or trail to Thunderhead Lodge Restaurant. Leaser lake is a short drive if you like fishing or kayaking. The Wanamakers Store is a unique place to visit with amazing sandwiches. The Wanamakers and Kemton railroad is close by for a weekend train ride. Bear Rock Junction is close by for mini golf and ice cream. Eight Oaks Distillery is only a few minutes away. Several wineries and antique shops as well. You may also see Appalachian Trail Thru Hikers come thru our property to stay at the hostel. Our premier hostel location along the Appalachian Trail is Rutland, VT. We’ve been operating as a hostel since 2012 in that location, offering hikers rides into town and a clean, affordable place to stay and clean up. Downstairs, we also run a small casual café-style restaurant named The Yellow Deli. We also have other locations along the trail: our organic Stoneybrook Farm in Hillsboro, VA (near Harper’s Ferry, WV)
When staying at any of our hostels, we don’t ask for money, although donations are appreciated to help us carry on. But in exchange for your stay, we ask that you contribute some of your time and skills to help further our efforts. Whether it’s carpentry or mechanical skills, helping out on the farm with garden or animal chores, or simply helping us make the meal and clean up afterward. We appreciate your help in keeping us going.
If you need a greater time of recharging, we invite you to stay on for several days. Please help us out and improve the hostel so other hikers’ experience will be even better. We appreciate any time donations anyone can give. But again, it’s not an obligation or expectation — just whatever you can do.
The Inn at Long Trail, is a classic Vermont inn, bed and breakfast with an Irish pub, and formal diningroom; it is close to skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and golf. The Inn was the first lodge built in Vermont to serve the skiing community, and has been serving skiers, hikers and people who love the mountains since 1938.
The Iron Horse Station is a landmark inn, restaurant, tavern, and shops located in the heart of Hot Springs, North Carolina, a historic mountain town situated directly on the Appalachian Trail. The Iron Horse Station has been renovated and extensively restored; transforming the Inn, Restaurant, Tavern, and Shops into a charming destination surrounded by the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains and the French Broad River.
Accommodations at Iron Horse Station feature fifteen welcoming guestrooms, each having its own private bathroom. Every guestroom contains comfortable new furnishings, handcrafted beds, and other amenities including Jacuzzi tubs, transom windows, original sky-wells, and mountain views.
The Restaurant and Tavern offers a friendly and casual dining experience. With a wide menu variety, a nice selection of beer and wine, a guest lounge with a fireplace, large screen TV and Wireless Internet, the Iron Horse Station is a memorable spot to eat, drink, and relax in a comfortable environment.
Some rooms offer TV/AC. All stays include shower with soap and towels, use of living room with TV, Wi-Fi and computer use. Light self-serve breakfast. THE STANIMAL EXPERIENCE – Stanimal started his first hostel in 2013 and has since expanded from one hostel to two. As a former thru-hiker (2004), he knows exactly what hikers need and provides a number of free services as part of the amenities during your stay. The homey Glasgow and Waynesboro hostels ensure hikers have a clean, comfortable place to rest with plenty of resupply stores in both locations.

Set on leafy grounds, this relaxed B&B in an A-frame log cabin is 7 miles from Desert Rose Ranch & Winery, 12 miles from Chester Gap Cellars and 3 miles from I-66. The 4 classic, warmly decorated rooms offer complimentary Wi-Fi. Some come with 4-poster beds, sleigh beds, rocking chairs and/or living areas with fireplaces. In-room massages are available. Skyland is nestled along mile 41.7 & 42.5 at Skyline Drive’s highest elevation – 3,680 feet. Rooms are located in 28 separate buildings along the ridge and in the wooded areas on over 27 acres. Click HERE to view a diagram of the building locations.
Lodging accommodations range from small, rustic cabins to comfortable preferred room to newly renovated premium rooms, some with suites and fireplaces. Pet-friendly rooms are available at an additional cost of $25 per pet per night. A maximum of two pets (dogs or cats only) allowed. While there are no in-room phones, cell service is available depending on your provider.
An ATM, gift shop, and the Mountain Taproom are located in the dining room building. Free, family-friendly entertainment is presented nightly in the Mountain Taproom. Guided horseback rides depart daily from Skyland Stables.
We are a small, family owned business that was established by Mike and Judy Fiorentino. The pair had a dream of owning a campground and in 1995, they made that dream a reality. They were living in Florida at the time and visiting Amicalola Falls State Park with their children and some friends when they came across the property that is now Under The Hemlock. They bought the property, moved their family to Georgia, and got to work. Mike and Judy built their family home, the country store, a bath house, and three cabins all by milling wood from trees cut on the property. This truly was a labor of love and something they knew would be their legacy in life. Now 30 years later, they’re able to have their children and grandchildren be involved. We’d love to have you visit our little oasis and explore all the wonderful attractions nearby. Some of those include Amicalola Falls State Park, Burt’s Pumpkin Farm, Ellijay Apple country, Blue Ridge and the famous downtown of Dahlonega. We hope to see you real soon!

Welcome to Switchback Creek Campground.We are a motorcycle and family friendly campground located in the mountains of North East Tennessee built by a rider. If you are tired of the hype and hustle of Deals Gap but would like exciting roads and beautiful mountain scenery then you have come to the right place. We are snuggled between three mountains at an elevation of 3,000 feet and just 2 1/2 miles from the crossroads US 421 and 91/133. Take a leisurely ride on any of the roads leading out of Shady Valley or gather with a group and ride “the snake ” . There are 489 curves within a 12 mile radius of the crossroads. Want to make this a family or group outing? There are various attractions available in the area. White water rafting, hiking on the AT, antique shopping, theaters, caverns, bicycling the creeper trail and many more activity’s within a days adventure. Most major cell carriers have service at the campground and free WiFi
Appalachian Cabins combine the rustic charm of yesteryear with the comfort of modern day conveniences. The cabins were constructed in the same manner as the early settlers of this area used to build their homes more than a century ago. All the timber, which came from Spruce Mountain, was milled in nearby Hardy County, and then hand hewn and assembled on-site.
