Our premier hostel location along the Appalachian Trail is Rutland, VT. We’ve been operating as a hostel since 2012 in that location, offering hikers rides into town and a clean, affordable place to stay and clean up. Downstairs, we also run a small casual café-style restaurant named The Yellow Deli. We also have other locations along the trail: our organic Stoneybrook Farm in Hillsboro, VA (near Harper’s Ferry, WV)
When staying at any of our hostels, we don’t ask for money, although donations are appreciated to help us carry on. But in exchange for your stay, we ask that you contribute some of your time and skills to help further our efforts. Whether it’s carpentry or mechanical skills, helping out on the farm with garden or animal chores, or simply helping us make the meal and clean up afterward. We appreciate your help in keeping us going.
If you need a greater time of recharging, we invite you to stay on for several days. Please help us out and improve the hostel so other hikers’ experience will be even better. We appreciate any time donations anyone can give. But again, it’s not an obligation or expectation — just whatever you can do.
If you’re seeking a cozy bed for several nights, whether for a peaceful retreat, rest from rock climbing, or productive meetings, you’ve come to the right place! We offer a range of accommodations, including mixed dorms, private rooms, or a newly renovated bus with all the comforts you need.
Enjoy our inviting common areas with various amenities designed to enhance your stay. Each morning, the aroma of fresh coffee will greet you, ensuring a sweet start to your day. Our well-equipped kitchen features a fridge, oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster, while the spacious living room is perfect for board games, conversations, relaxation with yoga mats, or watching movies on the projector. There’s something here for everyone, tailored to fit your mood and preferences. Every bed is outfitted with power outlets and a shelf for your convenience.
